Election Day

Today is election day.  Of course, Boppa & Grandma got up early & were at our polling location right at 7am when they opened the doors (little crazy, I'd say)!  But, as they've been bragging all day, they were number 1 & 2...yippee.  Boppa Reuben also surprised me during lunch letting me know that he had included Daniel Carson (age 2) as a write-in for the land & conservation!!!  Silly Boppa.

Rachael & I have been talking a lot about the elections & what they mean.  She's asked for a while now why there were a million signs on every street corner, and in our yard. I've explained that we all get to vote for who will represent us & whomever gets the most votes wins!  She was definitely excited to come with me to vote & to see what this is all about.
So this is before we went in to the Church to vote, she wanted a picture of
"Our Country's Flag."

We walked in to find a little line, so I had plenty of time to point everything out to her.  I got the little slip to go get our ballot & handed it to her.  Rachael was very excited to give it to the man who then handed us the ballot!  I showed her the ballot & explained that we filled in the circle & she was amazed at all the names on our ballot!  She said someday she wants to be on a ballot too....so add on to her future dreams of a paleontologist, dolphin trainer & cheerleader, a politician (god, I hope not!).

She was very excited to get the I Voted sticker & proudly wore it to school!
In all her excitement to get to school to show off her sticker, she forgot her thing she was supposed to bring to share.  Ooops, her letter "A" item stayed home on her chair rather than making it into her school bag!  After a few tears at school, her teacher let her pick something from the classroom that started with "A" to share.

This afternoon at 3:45pm, both kids are getting their flu shots & Daniel is having a weight check.  Hopefully he has gained some weight since his two year appointment.  I will definitely let you all know how it goes...I'm certainly nervous about the shots.
This is just before their shots...they did the best ever.
No tears!  YAY!  Daniel weighs 23lbs, put on 2lbs in 2 months...YAY!

Hopefully all will get out & vote just like we did.
Tonight we will anxiously be awaiting the results!
